Plate G9.no5: The Three Finger Glacier: from the Ice Trail Highway – The Rockies (Canada) *

A feature unique to the Rockies trek, as distinct from the other five I undertook between 2016 and 2018, were the glaciers. They were everywhere, crowning views but discreetly. This one apparently has significance, if only by its obviously distinctive character as indicated by its name: The ‘Three Finger’ Glacier.
I must admit – I was in awe of these glaciers, whether distinctive or not. The remains of the last ice age, lingering yet – quite something, to discover that the last ice age really wasn’t that long ago – and that bits of it are still about…unquestionably sobering…
