Plate G9.no8: The Rockies – near Lake Helen (Canada)*
One of many panoramas taken on this trek. I’ve never been more grateful for the panorama setting to be honest. The place seemed made for its exploitation.
This picture was from the second days walking, as we headed towards Lake Helen. Like Scotland, the landscape was forever changing. Here, the mornings’ steep climb through a forested trail, plateaued, and we found ourselves walking through this empty pass. If this had been the conclusion to the days’ trek, it would have been suitably wonderful – but Lake Helen was only a short distance away, and superseded even the magnificent panorama of this place.
