Plate G9.no15: The Ice Trail Highway i – The Rockies (Canada)*

There is a selection of relatively similar photographs in this gallery – three in fact – of views snapped whilst travelling by car, between the trailheads. Most are from what I believe is known as the Ice Trail Highway.
I never tired of this view – of road and mountain. It never ceased to amaze that mountains could rise up so vast, and yet, be passed, and disappear as if they had never existed. Sometimes I fancied that there was nothing like as many as the thousands mentioned; that there were but a handful, and that once passed, they rushed round by some other route to emerge again in front of us – greedy, and rightly so, for the camera’s adulation.
