Plate G9.no14: Sunset on Falls – The Yoho Valley – The Rockies (Canada)
I remember, on this day, half-way through the trek, resting at the days conclusion by this bank and taking this picture – and feeling as sublime as the photograph suggests.
It seemed to me as if the waterfall in the distance was draining from the setting sun and flowing warm and soft to where I stood. I’ve never been baptised – well, at least, not in living memory – but I felt baptised in that moment.
I would that I could have frozen that moment as the photograph does and could have stayed there. I would be standing there yet…
