Plate G9.no10: Boom Lake and Boom Mountain – The Rockies (Canada)*

Trekking in the Rockies was in my experience, unusual. One climbed to water. It tends to be the opposite in Scotland.
Boom Lake was no exception – it took two hours climbing to get there, maybe more, and even though this was the last days trekking, I still found the experience of arriving so, at bodies of water, strange – especially, to find one so mystically shrouded…
Though a conclusion, this was a place without direction – I could not discern from whence the water came; it seemed borne by mist. It was confounding, especially as my grief provoked the need for tangibility – but had supplanted me increasingly into a world where mist blurs the mountains. It’s a striking world; if it were a sound, it booms more than clear ringing…
