Plate G5.no20: A Nuclear Dawn – Rhu (Scotland)

It is impossible to live in this particular area of Scotland, on the West coast near Helensburgh, and not be acutely aware of the immediacy of the nuclear threat. The MoD Faslane Nuclear Submarine base is a fifteen-minute drive away – and it permeates perpetually that odorous taint, over all things.
Worst of all, it highlights in me the conundrum, threefold – of understanding the arguments, on both sides: of evolution versus devolution; of protest versus protection; of commitment versus complicity.
I won’t go there – right or wrong, I prefer to stay now in a world of my imagination, free of the ludicrous.
