TREK REFLECTIONS: CHINA 2016

Self- published: February 2021

In October 2016 I undertook a six-day long challenge trek on the Great Wall of China, on behalf of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
The trek, organised by the tour company ‘Discover Adventure’, included me and forty other trekkers, walking various sections of the Great Wall in the vicinity of the Mongolian Border.
A daily diary was kept and posted on Facebook, along with photographs of each days walk. These have been collated together with further reflective essays into this book: ‘China 2016: Reflections’.
The trek, the second undertaken, was part of a longer-term ambition to complete six treks in three years, subsequent to the death of my son in October 2014. Reflections, therefore, focus on observations of the place, the activities undertaken, and of my own personal feelings at the time.

Profits from the sale of this book go to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (Reg Charity: SCO07856).
