This gallery presents a series of photographs of ‘The Cobbler’, near Arrochar, Scotland.
The Cobbler, which stands just short of 3000ft and is formally known as Ben Arthur, was climbed six times between 2016 and 2017 as part of my training for my first three challenges treks, in China, the Arctic and the Canadian Rockies.*
Why six times? I’d decided to complete six volumes of a diary as record of my training and treks, and I wanted the Cobbler to feature in each volume, as a benchmark and indicator of my increasing fitness and capability. Furthermore, six has always been my favourite number – but that’s not the main reason. The reason is because, my son is six……
